wordle toda is a five-letter word deduction puzzle for mobile and desktop browsers. Each round hides one everyday English word. You have six guesses to find it. After every guess, the board answers with color: teal means the letter is in the right place, amber means it appears in the word but sits somewhere else, and slate means it is not in the word at all. The job is not speed typing. It is reading those clues, shrinking the possible words, and committing to a better guess.
The mood is quiet and bright. A sky-blue to mint gradient sits behind chunky bevelled buttons, white icon medallions, and a five-by-six tile board. The palette stays teal, amber, and slate instead of the usual green-yellow-grey, so the game looks like a casual arcade word title rather than a newspaper clipping. Soft tile flips, a short win burst, and optional sound cues mark each reveal without turning the screen noisy. High contrast mode swaps teal and amber for blue and orange and adds a solid or hollow corner mark on every colored tile, so color is never the only way to read a result.
The core pleasure is the next deduction. A good opener lights up vowels and common consonants. The on-screen keyboard keeps the best color it has earned, so you can see at a glance which letters are locked, wandering, or ruled out. Repeated letters are counted honestly: a letter only lights up as many times as it appears in the answer. Hard mode asks you to reuse every confirmed clue, which turns a casual daily into a tighter logic puzzle. There is no timer and no moving target. You play at the pace of thinking.
It suits players who like word games, daily check-ins, and short puzzle sessions. If you know common five-letter English words, you can start immediately. First-time help, a color legend, and a one-line coach sit on the first visit, so the rules take about a minute. The challenge grows from vocabulary and hard mode, not from hidden systems.
Replay value comes from two loops. Daily gives everyone the same puzzle, numbered and reset at local midnight, and tracks a streak if you solve it. Endless deals a fresh word whenever you want another round, with its own played and win counts so a long session cannot inflate the daily record. Stats keep win rate, current streak, best streak, a guess-distribution bar for daily solves, yesterday's word, and how many hints you have used. Mid-round progress is saved, so a refresh or a closed tab brings the same board back. You can copy the emoji result grid to share a finished daily without spoiling the word in plain text.
Open the home screen and choose a mode. Daily is the featured puzzle for today, shown with its case number and a countdown to midnight. Endless is an unlimited queue of new words. Before you start, you can turn on Hard mode, High contrast, Sound, or Music. Hard mode and the contrast setting apply to a fresh board; a round already in progress keeps the rules it started with. Sound effects default on. Music defaults off and only starts after the first tap.
In a round you see a six-row board and a letter keyboard. Type five letters with the on-screen keys or a hardware keyboard, then press Enter. Backspace removes the last letter. Every guess must be a real five-letter word. A made-up string or a word the dictionary does not accept is rejected, the row shakes, and you keep that attempt. After a valid guess, each tile flips to teal, amber, or slate. The matching keyboard key updates to the same color and never drops to a worse color later. If a letter appears twice in your guess but only once in the answer, only one tile receives a colored hit.
You win by placing the hidden word on any of the six rows. The result card rises from the bottom, names the word, and leaves the finished board visible behind it. Daily wins, including a solve on the rewarded extra row, fill the guess-distribution chart and continue the daily streak. Endless wins increment a separate endless ledger. You can copy the result as an emoji grid, start the next endless word, or return to the menu.
You fail if six guesses are gone and the word is still hidden. The first loss is not the last word: the result card can offer one extra guess after a short rewarded ad. Take it and the board grows by one row; solve on that row and it counts as a win. Decline it or leave the card and the round is recorded as a loss. Daily losses break the streak. The answer is shown on the card so leaving is a choice, not a hold-up.
There is no point score, coin purse, or combo meter. Performance is the guess count, written as N/6 when you solve and X/6 when you do not. Daily stats store played count, win rate, current streak, best streak, and how often you finished in one through six guesses, plus the extra-row slot. Endless only stores how many rounds you played and how many you won. Hints used are counted across play.
Daily and Endless share the same board, keyboard, and color rules. Daily is one shared word per local day, carries the streak, and always charges a rewarded ad for a hint. Endless hands out a new curated answer whenever you like, gives one free letter hint, then charges an ad for later hints. An interstitial may appear after every fifth finished endless round. A mid-round leave does not discard either mode: the current grid, hints, and hard-mode flag come back when you reopen the same mode.
Helpers are limited and readable. Hint names one letter that is in the word and never tells you its place. The clue appears on a strip under the board only after something has actually been revealed. Daily hints always cost an ad. Endless includes one free hint, then later hints cost an ad. The extra-guess offer appears only after a first loss, once per round. Dismissing or failing an ad grants nothing. There is no shop, no undo of a submitted guess, and no skip that reveals the word for free.
For a first session, open How to play and read the three color examples. Start Daily or Endless with a common word that mixes vowels and frequent consonants. Watch the keyboard as much as the board: teal keys are safe to reuse, amber keys must move, slate keys should stay off the next guess. If a letter shows up twice in your guess and only one tile colors, do not assume the answer contains it twice. Keep High contrast on if teal and amber are hard to tell apart. Use the free Endless hint only after two or three guesses have already narrowed the field.
Advanced play is about fewer guesses and a longer daily streak. Turn on Hard mode so every later guess must reuse locked positions and include every revealed letter at least as often as it was shown. Aim to land Daily in three or four tries rather than just finishing before row six. Treat Endless as practice for tomorrow's word, not as a way to pad the daily file. Copy the result when you want to compare grids, not answers. Come back after midnight for a new Daily number; a tab left open overnight will pick up the new case when you return to the menu.
